Holi-

Crazy insane holiday this has been. A short rendevous back to my little sunny island with loads of days worth of swimming and heat, then onwards to perth for my two week long break with people I love. It's been such a great one that it's really a little hard to believe that it's all going to be over this weekend. Yes school starts on monday and the photo above is an understatement to mountains and mountains of fun I had whilst on holiday. I guess this, really made up for the sucky semester I had to endure - perhaps sucky as it is a fault of no one else's, but my own. I mean afterall, life is what you make it out to be and what you want it to be (as one very very wise comfort taxi driver gladly informed me)

Perth has been fantastic and yes, I would definitely put more photos up once I get back - in fact jas, doi, jams and i are photo whores I tell you. I swear we are. We took so many photos that one cd-R could not manage it. I've been a glutton, ate so much ice-cream, cake and mussels that I believe - truely truely believe that I've put on 5kg to say that least, so much so that none of my clothes fit any longer. Ha. Obviously, no one would believe me.

I've gone surfing in 4 degress weather, played soo many games of scrabble in one night that I swear, it's my new favourite game (well, actually it is - it's just more fun to play when people allow you all the time in the world to think!)Then of course there was sandboarding which was a blast. A road trip which took us all through perth, through countless and countless of vineyards with heap-loads of free wine, I ate so much fish and chips that I swear if anyone offered me fish and chips in the next 2 months I would puke, ate pizza and absolutely no chinese food. I was granted coffee every (EVERY!!) morning by very very understanding friends who had to tolerate my insane and inane comments and silence because I hadn't my fixed. Honestly. it rocked. Holidays rock.

This holiday though, wasn't just all fun and games. I've learnt two things, first
there truely are miracles. Tacky as they sound. Yes they do happen and they exist.Really. This holiday was a miracle - having a place to stay in perth for 10 days for as little as 50 bucks is a miracle. and the even better miracle - wa. ha I passed those exams. Yes I did. I'm not proud of my grades because they were mediocre and from my point of view, my potential to do better is alot greater. But in light of the sucky-ness of last semester I guess, I'm more thankful than anything else for the grades. seriously. Unbelievable. I shrieked when I got my results. Ask doina - she's been complaining heaps since that time. ha.

The second thing I've learnt, that this world is more (than I would like to admit) materialistic. Yup it is. How comfortable you are, the way you live your life is directly related to the amount of material wealth you have, unless luck has it otherwise. WHY? we stayed at two backpacker inns on our roadtrips, it was 20 bucks a night (thereabouts) and you know if each of us was willing to pay 20 bucks more we could have stayed at a warmer place, with heated personal showers and warmer rooms. Yups. That could have happened. But because we were poor and travelling - not bearing with the cold was not a choice. Yupss.

I'll write more when I think of more. Ha.
