Doop Wop Be Do...The Wop Bam Boo

Channel 9 was screening Black Hawk down last night. It was a good movie. As i watched it, I realised the irony of it all. We have Hollywood in the "land of the free" making movies about the past mistakes made, the lives lost, the people made to fight, the people who believed in the "cause", the limitations of all the modern fighting equipment we possess. But yet, there was Vietnam after that i think, Kosovo i reckon too. and now Iraq. Probably alot more countless examples that i've no idea off either, BUT it kinda just sets you wondering...how many times we would have to make the same mistakes before we'll eventually learn to do what's right?

I prayed when i saw the movie, that the stuff happening would not never happened again. I said the same prayer when i watched Saving Private Ryan, A band of brothers and Pearl Harbour. No one deserves any of that, no matter which side you're on. There must be a victor and a loser in "games" and the consequences that has to be borne's not worth that much a price. Kids being made to fight and the whole country in chaos. I reckon that even if the adults wanted it..the kids don't deserve to be part of the whole political mess.

In one scene, this kid with his dad was a part of the local millitia..the kid was trying to kill a US soldier and by a twist of fate, he accidentally shot his dad. Have we all become so desensitised to war and death that we'll let the kids who'll take over the world from all of us one day become desensitised to it as well? I just think that it's upsetting to see a country brought to its knees, so many innocent lives lost because of one party's mistake.

It's not about the war, about the fighting or the shooting, it's about ya brother next to you.

Went to the gym today and played basketball with Darren and Christian. It was quite hilarious coz' i seriously can't shoot hoops for nuts. [now you know why i play only hockey and volleyball, nothing that requires me to shoot a ball through things..hockey doesn't count coz' i never get close enough to score anyway=)] yah it was fun, coz' both of them were really patient with me and i learnt how to do a layup=) all the hard work today was for the big party at my place tommorrow. Just for the dessert actually. made some of it today, it looks good already. yums=) will post pictures up..hees. can't wait. I'm seriously starting to just go to the gym and put myself through so much pain to wash away all that i've eaten the previous week. haha. Well...

No pain, no gain.

Back to work. Tommorrow's going to be an exciting day.
